Warranty Policy
JOINTS Spearfishing — Tahiti, French Polynesia
Last updated: October 13, 2026
1. General Warranty and Product Conformity
JOINTS Spearfishing is committed to providing quality spearfishing equipment suitable for its intended use.
This policy applies to all products sold by JOINTS Spearfishing, including spearguns, knives, wetsuits, fins, bags, apparel and accessories.
All products are covered by any mandatory statutory consumer guarantees applicable to the purchase.
Unless expressly stated in the product description or accompanying documentation, JOINTS Spearfishing does not provide an additional voluntary commercial warranty beyond applicable statutory rights.
2. Manufacturing Defects
A product may qualify for a warranty remedy if it has a manufacturing defect, does not conform to its description or specifications, or fails to meet applicable legal requirements concerning quality and durability.
Claims are assessed according to the product's intended use, reasonably expected durability, age, condition, maintenance, frequency of use and available evidence.
A product's condition at dispatch may be documented as part of our quality-control process. Such inspection does not exclude the possibility of a hidden defect or limit statutory consumer rights.
3. Normal Wear and Tear
Spearfishing equipment is exposed to demanding conditions, including saltwater, sunlight, abrasion, repeated movement and physical stress.
Normal wear and tear is not, by itself, a manufacturing defect.
Examples may include:
-
Gradual neoprene compression, fading and reduced elasticity.
-
Abrasion-related wear to wetsuit seams and stitching.
-
Surface scratches, cosmetic marks and ordinary material aging.
-
Wear to bags, straps, apparel and other accessories through repeated use.
-
Normal deterioration of consumable components, including speargun bands, shooting lines and spear tips.
Damage caused by accidental impact, misuse, improper maintenance, unsuitable storage or unauthorized modifications is not covered by any voluntary commercial warranty unless expressly stated otherwise.
These examples do not automatically exclude statutory claims. Premature failure caused by defective materials, workmanship or inadequate durability may still qualify for a legal remedy.
4. Wetsuits and Neoprene Products
The lifespan of a wetsuit depends on its frequency of use, fit, handling, rinsing, drying, storage and exposure to abrasive surfaces.
Normal compression, fading, surface abrasion and stitching wear resulting from use are not automatically manufacturing defects.
Premature seam separation, faulty bonding, defective stitching or abnormal material deterioration may constitute nonconformity, depending on the circumstances and applicable law.
Each claim is assessed individually. No fixed period of use or number of dives automatically determines whether a wetsuit is defective.
5. Fins, Knives and Other Equipment
Normal cosmetic deterioration, abrasion and expected component wear are distinguished from manufacturing defects.
Structural failures, defective assembly, material faults or abnormal premature deterioration may qualify for a remedy where attributable to product nonconformity.
Products must be used and maintained according to their intended purpose and applicable safety instructions.
6. Three-Year Limited Warranty — JOINTS Custom Spearguns
JOINTS custom-made spearguns are covered by a three-year limited commercial warranty against delamination and warpage under normal use.
This commercial warranty:
-
Applies to the original purchaser.
-
Is non-transferable, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
-
Covers confirmed defects involving delamination or warpage under normal use.
The commercial warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, accidental damage, unauthorized modifications, improper maintenance, commercial use or normal wear and tear.
Consumable parts, including bands, shafts, shooting lines and spear tips, are excluded from coverage for ordinary wear.
Where a defect is confirmed under this commercial warranty, JOINTS Spearfishing will repair or replace the affected product or component in accordance with the warranty conditions.
This commercial warranty is additional to, and does not limit, mandatory statutory consumer rights.

The appropriate remedy depends on the circumstances and the legal rights applicable to the purchase.

10. Manufacturer Warranties
Some third-party products may include a separate manufacturer's commercial warranty.
Where applicable, the manufacturer's warranty duration, conditions and claim procedures will be stated in the product description or accompanying documentation.
Manufacturer warranties are additional to any mandatory rights customers may have against JOINTS Spearfishing as the seller.
11. Consumer Protection
Nothing in this Warranty Policy excludes, restricts or overrides mandatory consumer protection rights applicable to a purchase.
Where applicable law provides stronger protections, those legal protections prevail.
